Problems of high-rise buildings need a solution, a robotic one!
Despite difficulties of living in high populated cities, there are dozens of advantages which can over weigh living in big cities rather than small ones.
Skyscrapers form a majestic and essential part of many urban skylines. As the urban population of the world continues to grow, skyscrapers will be necessary to maximize vertical space. Nevertheless, the key of this majesty is a spotless picture of tall buildings in front of our eyes. With their walls of sparkling glass windows, skyscrapers give the skyline an elegant look but those windows don't stay sparkling on their own. Rain, snow, smog, salt spray, dust, debris, bird droppings and more conspire to obscure a skyscraper's façade.
Cleaning soaring skyscrapers by using men power, is not as easy as it seems, specially when winds are blowing around. It doesn’t need to say, it’s not a safe way to clean a tall building façade by using conventional ways such as human force oriented methods. In addition, there are innumerable issues. For instance, it is slow, available only in warm seasons and based on cleaner service quality.
According to a local veteran window cleaner interviewed in the New York Times, a standard 50-floor skyscraper would take 30 to 40 days to clean in its entirety. The Empire State Building, by contrast, with its 102 floors, takes six men about four months to clean — and once they're done, the window cleaners have to start all over again.
It’s obvious that a modern urban life requires a modern solution to replace this unreliable, energy-wasting and old-fashion method of cleaning.
Maybe a robotic solution is all we need.
